Linking your action plan to localising the SDG(s)

Remember that all the SDGs are interlinked, and, most likely, mainstreaming the SDGs with a certain goal in mind has positive impact on a range of other areas.

As a team conduct Part 2 according to the instructions in the workbook.

Step 1 and 2. Which areas do you believe would be most impactful in terms of reaching your chosen SDG(s) and/mainstreaming the SDGs?

Step 3: Establish an Action Plan. If you are chosing to mainstream the SDGs throughout your local government, the implementation of the later will be the focus of your action plan. If you have selected to work with one or more SDGs through a department specific project, your SDG related work is likely to only represent an activity or two within a larger action plan. At this stage, you may want to include conducting a VLR as an activity in your action plan.

Step 4. Form your project and steering groups. Again, these teams should be composed based on your overall goal with localising the SDGs: mainstreaming or project/department based. Depending on this diffrent teams will need to be composed.
