Agenda 2030 is a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations in 2015. These goals aim to promote sustainable development and address global challenges such as poverty, inequality, and climate change. It is important to institutionalise Agenda 2030 on a local level because local governments play a critical role in implementing the SDGs and achieving the objectives of Agenda 2030.
To kick off this course, complete the “Introduction to Agenda 2030” training via the link below. It takes about 20 minutes and offers a good overview of Agenda 2030 and the context it is implemented in. The training was developed in collaboration with Statistics Sweden.

This is not a full description of the SDGs – but there is ample material available to read up more on the goals. For example, on this page, scrolling down, you’ll find a pedagogical overview of all goals, targets and indicators that you can explore at our own pace, as they become relevant to you. https://sdgs.un.org/#goal_section
