How to strengthen peer-to-peer learning on the SDGs in your municipal partnership or network

Module 1. Overview of SDG Localisation

Module reflection and facilitation

Reflection questions

  • To what extent has your own local government localised Agenda 2030? What goals is your local government focusing on?
  • How would you describe the local governments role in reaching Agenda 2023? Do you see any gaps in your own government’s work with the SDGs?

Please feel free to share your reflections with ICLD, so we can facilitate knowledge-sharing and discussions in upcoming forums.

Facilitation tips

This online course is facilitated by the ICLD in our programmes but this section should also provide you with enough inspiration if you would like to facilitate it independently.

Consult ICLD’s Democratic workshop’s handbook below for faciliation method tips for this module. We suggest the following methods:

  • Print out The SDGs: What local governments need to know (UCLG) and place some copies on the tables.
  • Start with Democracy fitness Active Listening earlier on in the workshop if possible
  • Coninue with Individual reflection followed by bee-hives
  • World Cafe method if participants have practical and concrete SDG localisation examples to share with the group.
  • Circuit Training
