Welcome to this online learning course

Welcome to this online learning course on Localizing the Sustainable Development Goals. The SDGs are a global framework of objectives which require adapted action on all levels of governance.

The course will introduce you to the concept of SDG Localisation, that is te process of adapting the global framework to your own local context. It will explain what role local governments have in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and how they can identify, implement and monitor implementation.

It consists of five modules, taking between one and three hours each to complete.

Are you part of an ICLD Municipal Partnership?
The SDGs and local democracy are inextricably linked to create a socially, economically and environmentally sustainable future. This course will support you to design and implement a feasible ICLD project that contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. This will be reflected in the stakeholder and root cause analysis in your Problem-Oriented Project Planning workbook. The SDG framework also constitutes a communicative element that can help you in peer-to-peer exercises and friendly benchmarking.
