Module 2. A bit of history and context

Co-creation of participatory mechanisms

Participation mechanisms should have a community ownership throughout the process. Depending on the level of ambition, different levels of co-creation can be employed at different stages of a project.

In an ICLD project, the stakeholder analysis is an opportunity to reflect on what groups that are relevant for co-creating design and implementation plans.

For inspiration, this policy brief outlines the process of creating municipal committees for the creation of green corridors. It was a way to ensure that the plan to establish nature-based solutions – spatial planning solutions that are beneficial for both nature, humans and the economy – are rooted in the affected communities and actually achieve their purpose.
