In CBPR, the research question is refined alongside the community impacted by the topic of research. Nevertheless, as researcher you need to have a puzzle in mind that you set out with.
Throughout this course, you will draft an outline of a CBPR project plan. This may be on a project you are currently working on, one that you are about to get started with, but it also may be something you make up for the purpose of applying this knowledge on something practical. If so, we recommend using the theme “The Future We Imagine”, and explore how a certain group of citizens in a given locality envisage a better future and what is needed to get there.
Take some time to reflect on the issue you want to study, and think about how a community can help you identify the real gist of that problem and what you need to ask them to get that help. Narrow it down as much as you can. Then try to formulate:
Write/paste your answer in the “Making Change Happen” document. Save in and keep filling it up as you progress through the modules.
